IIT Hyderabad project has been a very special project for us in Rezovate. It was our first opportunity to work with L&T Constructions.

Here we are sharing some major achievements for us during this project - that made it a memorable one!

1.    We became trusted partners of L&T

When the project first came, we had no significant presence in the city of Hyderabad. We were highly doubtful if we would be able to run this project sustainably or not. As the arrangements for team’s food and accommodation in Hyderabad was also to be done.

Also, the project had a close deadline and our team was not sufficient to complete it within the stipulated timelines.

However, we worked with a combination of our in-house team and a team of contract workers from Bihar. As a result, we had a power packed team lead by our project manager – Shiv Kumar.

The team was trained within a week and work was started.

The result? We delivered best quality of flooring and thus started a long-term partnership with L&T. It was because of our team’s performance in this project that we were recommended to World Cup Hockey Stadium in Rourkela, Navi Mumbai Airport, IICC and even the new PMO (Prime Minister’s office)!

This project marked the starting of L&T’s trust in us for concrete flooring.

2.    Best amongst all Vendors

The architecture of IIT Hyderabad relies greatly on exposed concrete. Therefore, they wanted the floors also to have a polished concrete finish. When we were invited, 4 concrete polishing vendors were already working on the project.

However, their floors started developing fine cracks and become dull – even before inauguration!

This is when, someone recommended us to L&T. The finish of Odus Flooring is very similar to polished concrete. The only difference is – Odus is more durable because of concrete regeneration technology. [Refer our article Odus vs Concrete Polishing]

With our unique technology, we could deliver results that were best in finish and durability.

3.    Our people became a brand on site

When the project was close to completion – we visited there. The first question we got asked on the gate was – “You are from Shiv Kumar sir’s team, right?”

This remained common for every person whom we met there! No one knew “Rezovate”, every one knew “Shiv Kumar sir’s team”. Right from the security guard to the project head – everyone praised and talked about Shiv Kumar’s team with great respect,

This was a proud moment for us, our team had established a brand with their work ethic.

4.    Two workers quit alcohol

Along with our internal team, we had deployed a subcontractor team from Bihar on this project. These were super hard-working people. But drinking every time they got a chance – was a norm for them.

We all know how difficult it is to convince someone to quit alcohol. Therefore most of us don’t even try. However, Shiv Kumar used to talk to them and tell them that this is not a good practice and will harm their health and family.  

Right before the end of the project, 2 of them came to Shiv Kumar and told them that they have left drinking and wont drink ever!

Personally, I think this is the best thing that happened on this project. I am still proud of it!
