People always ask me why I choose civil engineering in spite of so many branches that do not need me  to be on my toes every time ? To which I say that I am from Kashmir - a valley surrounded by mountains and when I was young whenever we traveled to Delhi by the Nh-44 , I used to be fascinated by how we were connected with the other places by these roads cut through the mountains. It made me think of how the people who made these roads would feel when they traveled on these roads. Connecting people with the outer world and helping the world to reach a place that is beautiful , in itself gives a sense of pleasure and satisfaction. That time in itself I told myself that I want to be a Civil engineer and make things that can make a whole lot of difference not only to me but to others also.

I was asked “ Do you think girls can be a civil engineer and manage things  on site , as it requires dealing with many things and different kinds of people ?”

For which I always refer to the fact that 15% of the pilots in our country India are women , even when some people think that women are bad drivers still they fly in the sky. When  women can fly planes not only commercial but fighter also , then why not in construction? When we go shopping for groceries and household items isn’t it our mother who bargains and finalizes the deal with the vendors, don’t a woman who is a house maker have to deal with different kind of people on a daily basis for different household work then why can’t we do it on a site and lead by example that not only house but women can lead anywhere.

Rezovate is my first company and in the last 2 months I have measured the country - from Kashmir to Chennai. Hope to travel more and build more in the coming months!
